Skin Rejuvenation

Alpha hydroxy peels are a series of in-office treatments that improve the appearance of fine lines, mild pigmentation, irregular, scaly and sun-damaged skin -- all with minimal or no "down-time" from work and social activities.

Facials optimize skin care results between your physician-recommended regimen of procedures, and our facials are tailored to your skin's special needs, whether for hydration, rejuvenation, toning, firming, or special acne treatments.

Injectable Fillers

More and more soft tissue fillers are being introduced.  These materials can be used to plump up thin lips or to fill creases and wrinkles around the nose, lips and eyes as well as to fill depressions or scars.

Here are two popular FDA-approved fillers that can be used in combination to meet your skin's needs:

Restylane is an effective filler for fine to medium-depth facial lines and for under-eye hollows. It can last up to eight months, no skin test is necessary, and results are immediate.

Radiesse immediately replenishes lost volume and stimulates the production of your own natural collagen. It is effective on moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as smile and marionette lines.

Botox

Botox offers an injectable approach to smoothing lines by paralyzing the underlying muscles that create wrinkles. It's great to minimize or eliminate the line between your brows, "crow's feet" surrounding your eyes or those forehead wrinkles.

Skin Resurfacing:  Deeper Peels & Laser

Depending on your skin analysis, your treatment plan may include a procedure for medium or deep wrinkles and pigmentation. No matter which skin resurfacing procedure you and Dr. Moravec choose, the goal is to improve your skin's appearance as much as possible.

  • Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) can be used in varying strengths to treat medium-depth wrinkles and moderately sun-damaged skin with discoloration and age spots.  The chemical penetrates into the first layer of the dermis, and the top layer sheds leaving a more vibrant and smoother skin.

  • Erbium laser is another treatment option for medium-depth wrinkles. The high energy, amplified light waves of the laser vaporize the top layer of skin instantly.

  • Phenol is a stronger acid used in skin resurfacing, and the phenol peel is the deepest. Phenol is applied in the same manner as the TCA.

  • CO2 laser, like the erbium, vaporizes the skin with its light wave energy. The CO2 laser, however, penetrates deeper to help correct the deeper wrinkles and more severe sun-damaged skin.

In both the medium and deep skin resurfacing procedures, you will experience a lot of redness. In one to two weeks new skin will emerge that is pinkish, smoother, and free of many wrinkles.
