Rhytidectomy (Facelift)

Changes at the jowl, chinline or neck may be a result of age or heredity. The classic facelift can tighten and reposition the soft tissue of the neck and jowl to produce a more youthful appearance.

The incision, which generally begins at the temple and continues around and behind the ear, can be concealed in the hair or natural skin creases. The skin is lifted, underlying muscle and tissue tightened, and excess skin removed. Neck liposuction is frequently combined with a facelift.

Newer techniques may also be used to help support the sagging tissue of the mid-face. This is called a mid-facelift and can be combined with the classic facelift or a blepharoplasty.
