Rhinoplasty (Nose Reshaping, Nose Job)
An attractive nose can enhance the appearance of the eyes and mouth. Nasal surgery can provide better facial balance by correcting a bump, shortening or narrowing the nose, refining the tip or repairing an injury. In many cases there may be some nasal obstruction that can be corrected at the same time. The result is an improved symmetry, balance, and proportion. The nose harmonizes better with other facial features.
Chin/Cheek Surgery
A contouring of the chin or cheek can enhance a well-defined look and helps to balance and harmonize the face. A change in the chin/cheek size or shape may improve a person's profile. This surgery is a relatively straightforward procedure that can make a major difference.
To augment the chin or cheek, the surgeon creates a space where a medical-grade implant can be inserted or the bone can be moved. This implant, made of synthetic material that feels much like natural tissue normally found in the chin or cheek, is available in a wide variety of sizes and shapes.
Neck liposuction is frequently performed at the same time as chin surgery. The removal of excess fatty tissue helps redefine the chin or neckline.
Facelift (Rhytidectomy)
Changes at the jowl, chin line or neck may be a result of age or heredity. The classic facelift can tighten and reposition the soft tissue of the neck and jowl to produce a more youthful appearance.
Traditional Facelift: The incision, which generally begins at the temple and continues around and behind the ear, can be concealed in the hair or natural skin creases. The skin is lifted, underlying muscle and tissue tightening, and excess skin removed. Neck liposuction is frequently combined with a facelift. More recently developed techniques have reduced the amount of downtime and have produced longer lasting results.
Shortlift: This is a procedure designed for patients who are concerned about the appearance of their jowls. This procedure is also known as the mini-lift or weekend lift.
Neck Liposuction & Fat Transfer
Neck Liposuction and Neck Lifts are the surgical technique that removes some of the excess fat under the chin. Some people develop a bulge of fat under the chin that persists regardless of weight loss. A small incision is placed under the chin, inside the nose or in front of the ear depending on the area being treated, and a small metal tube attached to a suction machine is inserted in order to remove the fat. Once a fat cell is removed, it does not return. However, if there is a weight gain, some of the surrounding cells may also enlarge. Neck liposuction can be performed alone or with other procedures such as a facelift or neck muscle tightening.
LipoTransfer (Fat Transfer): Soft tissue augmentation has been performed for years with safe and effective techniques such as manufactured injectable fillers and synthetic material implants. However, in some instances augmentation with natural materials such as fat may be more desirable. Fat transfer is useful in lip augmentation and filling the hollows and depressions of the cheek, forehead and chin.
Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
Droopy eyelids, bags under the eyes or loose skin are signs of facial aging. Upper and lower eyelid surgery can reshape fatty bulges and excess skin to brighten your look. This procedure removes the excess fat, and skin from both upper and lower lids, and the results can be a refreshed appearance, with a younger, firmer eye area. Blepharoplasty cannot, however, alter fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, nor can it change sagging eyebrows. Other procedures such as injectable fillers, peels and brow lift surgery address those conditions.
Brow or Forehead Lift
The sad or tired look that can develop with age often relates to a drooping brow, heavy wrinkling of the forehead or deep furrows between eyes. This can contribute to a problem with excessive upper eyelid skin. A mid-forehead or full forehead lift as well as an endoscopic browlift can lift brows that show signs of drooping.
Otoplasty (Ear Repositioning)
The most common cosmetic problem associated with the ear is protrusion, which causes the ears to appear larger than they actually are. Although the protusion may occur on just one side, most often it is bilateral. Otoplasty is a procedure that reshapes the natural ear fold and sets the ear closer to the head. Children experience this outpatient procedure under general anesthesia in a hospital setting.
Earlobe Repair
Your ears are one of the most visible parts of your head and help make a statement about your appearance. Sometimes earrings that are too heavy, hang low or are pressed tightly by extended use of a telephone can cause long earlobes or tears in the ears. Sometimes small children may grab and pull a shiny earring causing a tear. These tears are often split and may be hard to cover with your hair, and, in addition, prevent use of fashionable jewelry. Earlobe Repair is a solution to this problem. There are several different types of repairs that can be done all in the office under local anesthesia and usually within an hour's time.
Lip Augmentation
During the aging process, lips tend to become thinner and smaller. Lip augmentation or the enlarging of lips may be desired to achieve an appearance of full, sensual lips.
Injectable fillers are most commonly used to increase the size of lips. The transfer of fat is also an effective way of augmenting lips. Fat is taken from another part of the body and injected with a small needle into the lips.
